5 out of 55 out of 55 out of 55 out of 55 out of 5 Unbelievable, 1.2.2010 - Reviewer: Robert V (Mississauga, Ontario)
The weight, looks, and styling of the S4 are incredible. I've been using the regular HeadBlade for years, and didn't think I'd ever find anything better. After opening the kit that the S4 came with for Christmas from my girlfriend....I think I'll keep her! (Just don't tell her I may love the HeadBlade a bit more!)

I ordered the S4 Shadow and it arrived quickly. It is very well made with just one problem. The wheels are cheap and make the razor feel sort of cheap even though it is NOT! Other than that the razor is beautiful, weighted perfectly to help get a slightly more closer shave (in my experience anyway). The cost is high but I think it was worth it.

I only started shaving my head a few months ago. (I love it BTW.) I first used the free blades they give away at my gym. That was a mistake as they resemble a rusty butter knife. Then I stepped up to the Gillette Fusion. No slouch as I'm sure you would agree. But someone told me about a device built for head shaving as as a gadget guy I had to try it. So I bought the HeadBlade Sport. It gave me a shave that was maybe 3 times better than a Gillette Fusion. I was totally blown away. I started buying more HeadBlade stuff (lotions...) I got really into the brand and I when the S4 came out I jumped. The S4 is fantastic. Since I started using it, I have not cut myself and I get better shaves. I suspect that the seriousness and heft of the metal unit makes me want to be much more careful. The S4 kind of lets you know that it means business. Anyway, it looks cool, gives a fantastic shave and I like the case it comes in. One flaw that is responsible for me giving this only 4 stars. The wheels are cheap plastic. They are so completely at odds with the manly construction of the S4 that I honestly don't know what the great guys at HeadBlade were thinking. For $99 this thing really should be perfect. So HeadBlade, please fix the wheels and send me a new model :) But otherwise, get the S4. It's a great product.

I wanted the S4 Shadow ever since I saw pictures of it. It was a must-have for me. Upon "unboxing" the S4 Shadow, I'd be short-changing this review if I failed to mention the sweet clam-shell case that comes with the unit. It holds the S4 Shadow, as well as accessories you'll need to shave your head (extra adaptor, extra blade, and travel slick). This is something you can just throw into your travel bag, knowing you've got what you need AND that your S4 Shadow is safe. The S4 Shadow looks and feels the same as the first S4 limited release from 2004. The logo is grey-scale, which adds to the dark, shiny, mirror-like look. It's got the spring-loaded finger hook and wheels that are all black and function the same. It even has a kick stand! I love the kick stand, as it keeps the blade off the tile. For my regular HeadBlade, I hang it on a cup by the hook. Now, having been a HeadBlade user for the better part of the decade, it took me only a few passes to get used to the extra weight. The S4 Shadow does weigh a bit more than the regular HeadBlade that we all know and love. You know it's in your hand. I recommend the S4 Shadow to anyone and everyone who appreciates the convenience that has been afforded to us, thanks to HeadBlade.
